The Assam Secondary Education or SEBA Act, 1961 (Assam Act, XXV of 1961) was passed to provide for the establishment of a Board of Secondary Education to regulate, supervise and develop Secondary Education in the State of Assam. The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (popularly known as SEBA) came into existence on 14 March, 1962. The Board was first accommodated in the Conference Room of the office of D.P.I., Assam at Shillong. Presently the territory of the State of Assam is the jurisdiction of the Board.

Tezpur University Exam Results 2013

The establishment of Tezpur University is considered to be one of the outcomes of the Assam Accord,[3] along with the establishment of Assam University and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Tezpur University was established, by an Act of Parliament,[4] in 1994. The then Prime Minister of India, P.V. Narasimha Rao chaired the opening of the University. Initially, the University operated from the premises of the Darrang College, in Tezpur. Land was acquired at Napaam, a suburb of Tezpur, about 15 kilometers east, of 242 acres (0.98 square kilo-meters), and the premises shifted.

Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University, Guwahati (KKHSOU)

Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University is a state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established by the Assam Legislative Assembly by Act XXXVII of 2005 in 2005. The Act received the assent from the Governor on the same year. It was recognized by the Distance Education Council in 2007 and by the University Grants Commission in 2009 which lists 2007 as the year of establishment. It is also known as KKHSOU. This university is fully equipped with all advanced infrastructural facilities for the students as well as for the faculties.
